Roots & Renewal

A Slow Living Experience of Movement, Food & Moroccan Culture

Sidi Kaouki, Morocco · 28 April–7 May 2027 · 9 nights

What if a retreat gave you more space, rather than less?

This special trip is so much more than a holiday, or retreat. It is an invitation into a way of life.A slower rhythm. A deeper connection with the local community, food and nature. A chance to move, explore, create, rest and simply be.

Many retreats offer a beautiful programme, but leave little room between one experience and the next. We wanted to create something different.Over ten days, we intentionally leave space in the rhythm of the retreat, including two free days when you can choose what feels right for you.Stay at the eco lodge and enjoy a slow breakfast. Walk for hours along the wild Atlantic beaches. Take a surf lesson. Go horseback riding. Explore Essaouira - one of the most beautiful and charming cities of Morocco. Read by the pool. Have a massage. Or simply do nothing. You don't have to pack your bags or change accommodation. You can remain in your peaceful home at the lodge and let the days unfold naturally.

Because sometimes the most nourishing part of a journey is the space in between.

Slow down · Move · Nourish · Connect · Give back

A journey into Moroccan life

Rather than observing Morocco from the outside, we invite you to experience it from within.Through connection with the land, the food, friendships, stories, traditions and everyday moments that cannot be found in a guidebook. It is a chance to truly slow down and discover how simplicity, nature, movement and conscious nourishment can gently transform the way we live.Experience this wild coastal area of Morocco at a gentle pace. Drop into the rhythm of the raw, rugged and earthy landscape. Let the elemental beauty expand your perception and offer an opportunity to perceive life through a different lens.
To notice the seasons.
To taste.
To listen.
To move.
To gather around food.
To share stories.
And to rediscover the world around you through the senses.

Two women, one shared passion

This journey has grown from a friendship that began with teaching and has evolved into a beautiful creative exchange.

Hayley North

Hayley has been Nadine's teacher for the past seven years. Over time, their teacher-student relationship became a deep friendship and an ongoing source of inspiration for one another.Hayley brings together many worlds: She is a Healing Arts practitioner and teacher specialising in Yoga, Qi Gong and Mindful Movement. She is also a Holistic Chef and lifelong student of movement, food, nature and the changing seasons. She has a rare ability to bring these things together intuitively and creatively - not as separate practices, but as different expressions of the same way of living. For Nadine, Hayley has been an infinite source of inspiration: someone whose knowledge, sensitivity, creativity and deeply intuitive relationship with nature have influenced and nourished her own work enormously.

Nadine Rössner

Nadine has lived in Morocco for twenty-five years. During this time she has built a life deeply connected to the people, landscape, traditions and food culture of the region. She speaks the local language, has formed friendships within the community and has experienced Morocco not simply as someone living abroad, but as a place that has gradually become part of who she is.For the past five years, she has created and lived at The Wild Garden, her personal home, working kitchen, creative space and place of storytelling in the countryside of Sidi Kaouki. This is where Nadine cooks, creates, experiments, welcomes people and shares the Moroccan traditions and stories that have become part of her life.

Together

And that inspiration now flows both ways. Together they continue to inspire and nourish one another through their shared love of food, movement, creativity, nature and conscious living.Together, Hayley and Nadine bring two different but beautifully complementary perspectives. One rooted in movement, embodiment and the wisdom of the seasons. The other rooted in Moroccan culture, food, storytelling and twenty-five years of lived experience. And both are united by the same desire: to rediscover the world we live in with curiosity, presence and wonder.

Nourished by movement

Every day we create opportunities to move the body, release tension and reconnect with ourselves.Hayley will guide you through Yoga, Qi Gong and mindful movement practices, including myofascial movement. Some sessions may begin the day; others may become a gentle pause later in the afternoon. There is no need to perform, achieve or push. Movement becomes a way of arriving in the body and allowing the experiences of the day to settle more deeply.

Nourished by food

Food is at the heart of this journey. As two passionate holistic retreat chefs, Hayley and Nadine will share their love of conscious cooking through hands-on workshops and beautiful meals inspired by local, seasonal ingredients. We will explore food not only as nourishment, but as creativity, ritual and connection. There will be food meditations, shared preparation and the simple pleasure of eating something we have created together.Alongside Hayley and Nadine, local Moroccan cooks and producers will bring their own knowledge and traditions into the experience.

Nourished by Moroccan culture

Morocco will not simply be the backdrop to our journey. It will be one of our teachers. We will step into the rhythm of the countryside at a traditional rural souk - a lively, colourful gathering place where people from surrounding villages come to trade, shop, meet and share news. Far from a tourist market, this is a glimpse into the everyday Morocco that exists beyond the polished surface: earthy, vibrant, sometimes wonderfully chaotic and deeply connected to the rhythms of rural life. After the lively energy of the souk, we will slow the pace again with lunch at a family-run countryside eco farm, surrounded by the calm and beauty of its garden. We will visit a local family in their village home and discover the story of Morocco’s precious argan oil. They will show us how the oil has traditionally been made and welcome us to share tea with them.We will spend time in Essaouira, wandering through its beautiful old medina, discovering its art, crafts and winding streets, and having lunch together. One evening as the sun begins to sink, we will meet local fishermen at a simple stone hut on a long, wild Atlantic beach and share a rustic supper together - a moment of earth, fire, sea, food and people.

Through Nadine’s stories, you will also be invited into the rich heritage of Amazigh culture - the ancient stories, wisdom and traditions that have been passed down through generations and continue to live within the landscape and communities around us.These experiences are not about collecting activities. They are invitations to listen, feel, participate and connect - and to discover Morocco through the senses, through stories and through the people who call this place home.

Nourished by local life

For us, experiencing Morocco authentically also means creating a meaningful exchange with the people who live here.We don't want to simply take you to see Moroccan culture. We want to create opportunities for you to meet the people who are part of it - to listen to their stories, learn from their skills, share food and experience some of the rhythms of everyday rural life.Whenever possible, we work directly with local families, farmers, cooks, craftspeople and small businesses. From the food we source to the people we visit and the experiences we share, we want the benefits of this journey to reach the local community. This is an important part of why we have created the retreat in this way. What you invest in this experience is not only paying for a beautiful holiday. It helps create a living exchange with the place you are visiting.

A day at The Wild Garden

One of the special experiences of the journey will be a day at Nadine's Wild Garden.Tucked within an Argan tree forest, The Wild Garden is not a venue created for the retreat. It is Nadine's real home. For the past five years, this has been her personal living space, working kitchen, creative playground and storytelling place, surrounded by the countryside of Sidi Kaouki. Here you will step into her world.
You will discover how she approaches a holistic kitchen, how she works with Moroccan ingredients and traditions, and how food, nature, beauty and everyday life can become part of one connected experience.
There will be cooking, stories, a shared lunch and an outdoor movement practice with Hayley.
It is an opportunity to experience Morocco through the eyes of someone who has made a life here.
